Tonight's HelloFresh meal review is the Steak with Mushroom Cream Sauce plus Roasted Potatoes & Carrots. This dish was a little more time intensive than the average HelloFresh meal, and took me right around an hour from start to finish (directions said 10 minutes to prep and 40 minutes to cook).
The sauce was great, and the steak had a nice flavor. The potatoes and carrots we fine--nothing special. Although it took a while to make, it wasn't difficult. This was a nice meal, and overall we all gave this meal an 8. Good, but not one I would be dying to order again.
Tonight's meal was the Lone Star Chicken and Rice Bowls. Generally we all like the HelloFresh rice bowl recipes, and the serving sizes are usually large enough where often have leftovers.
The directions on this one says 10 minute prep time and 30 minute cook time. My cook time was closer to 45 minutes, although I think I am probably a slower than average cook and tend to clean the kitchen as I go. I find I usually take longer than the time indicated for most recipes.
The verdict on this one was that it was good, but not the best HelloFresh recipe we've ever had. I liked the flavor, and it wasn't so spicy that my youngest couldn't eat it. The prep was pretty easy. Overall, I thought it was good but not outstanding.

Son: 4 (he is my picker eater and generally not a huge fan of tomatoes--this recipe has a tomato base and a tomato salsa on top)
