My husband is a HUGE fan of chicken legs. If there is a place that has chicken legs on the menu, there is a very high likelihood that he will order it. On one of our earlier dates, I remember him ordering a chicken leg and walking around with it at a festival, which for some reason struck me as a little odd. So, I was pretty sure he was going to like this meal when I saw it on my list of HelloFresh menu options. And I was right!
This meal was super easy to put together. The chicken legs are just roasted in the oven with a little olive oil and salt & pepper--and 20 minutes in you glaze with BBQ sauce. That's it! And it was SO good! Not sure why I have never made these before, but I am definitely going to try on my own. I really liked the HelloFresh BBQ sauce that was included--I will have to do a "taste test" sometime, but to me it tasted very similar to Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce. (If you happen to know a sauce I can buy at the grocery store that tastes like the HelloFresh sauce, let me know--I didn't have any Sweet Baby Ray's sauce on hand to test my theory!) The chicken was very moist and flavorful. In fact, my husband said that the chicken was a 10 out of 10!
The side dishes were fine--I liked the potatoes a lot, but my kids didn't care for the crema that came with it (maybe they would have liked a plain sour cream sauce better? or skip the sauce altogether?), and the green beans were just green beans. The chicken was definitely the star of the show! In fact, my husband said his only complaint with this meal is that he wanted more chicken (only one leg per person). And a nice bonus: this meal only had 600 calories!
So, order this meal if you can--we all gave it the thumbs up! Or, make it on your own--this one would be very easy to re-create, and we have already talked about buying some chicken legs and doing just that! Delicious!!

husband: 9 (he said the chicken got a 10, but the sides brought the meal down to a 9)
